Paris' biennial "Mois de la Photo" has made this city one of the world capitals of photography. Taking place during the month of November it showcases both venerable classics and cutting edge new work. The theme this year is "European photography - tradition and transformation".

Since 2004 the Mois de la Photo has broadened its horizons incorporating other European cities. This year the photo fest includes exhibitions and events in Berlin, Bratislava, Luxembourg, Moscow, Rome and Vienna.

There will be some 80 exhibitions on view around Paris starting in late October. In addition to the official festival exhibitions a "Mois de la Photo Off" hosts another 100 "expos."
